Expertly Crafted WEGOSUTURES for Dental Surgery

Dental surgery is commonly done to remove severely decayed, damaged or infected teeth. These procedures involve extracting teeth through simple or more complex methods, depending on different factors, such as how much of the tooth is above the gum line. More common dental procedures also include extractions to remove wisdom teeth. These teeth can cause problems when they become impacted or when they result in overcrowding. Other surgical dental procedures include root canals, surgery to place dental implants in the jaw and surgery to correct jaw problems. Surgical procedures are used in the treatment of severe or advanced cases of periodontal disease. WEGO-PGA Sutures elicits a minimal initial inflammatory reaction in tissues and are eventually replaced with an in-growth of fibrous connective tissue. Progressive loss of tensile strength and eventual absorption of sutures occurs by means of hydrolysis, where the polymer degrades to glycolic which are subsequently absorbed and eliminated by the body. The structure of WEGO-Rapid PGA sutures is the same with WEGO-PGA sutures. Absorption of WEGO-PGA RAPID sutures are essentially complete between 42 and 63 days. WEGO-NYLON suture elicits a minimal initial inflammatory reaction in tissues, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue, While polyamide is not absorbed, progressive hydrolysis of the polyamide in vivo may result in gradual loss over time of tensile strength. WEGO-PTFE suture is indicated for use in all types of soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including cardiovascular, dental and general surgeries, as well as repair of the dura mater. WEGO-PTFE sutures are not absorbed. Due to the relative biological inertness of PTFE sutures, they are recommended for use where the least possible suture reaction is desired. WEGO-BRAIDED SILK suture elicits an initial inflammatory reaction in tissues, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissues. While Silk are not absorbed, progressive degradation of the proteinaceous Silk fibre in vivo may result in gradual loss of all the suture’s tensile strength over time.
